While we’d imagine Samsung is saving new smartphone hardware for Mobile World Congress next month but it’s booth at CES this year was definitely a sight to see. While its TVs dominated the announcements this year, Samsung’s booth was filled to the edges when we took a look around. Here are a few highlights. We know we’re IntoMobile but it was hard not to snap some shots of Samsung’s new Super OLED HDTV. I’ve personally never cared for HDTV Tech before but after seeing these new sets from Sammy, I … Read more
Last week, Sprint rolled out an update to its HTC EVO 3D handset but what many people didn’t know was the upgrade removed the controversial software Carrier IQ. Before this upgrade, The Now Network was reported to having somewhere north of 26 million devices carrying Carrier IQ, so this maintenance update shrinks that number down some. Sprint has 15 other devices carrying the diagnostic analysis software and most people don’t expect them to remove it from those handsets. Carrier IQ may have gotten a bad rep from all of the negative … Read more

If you’re already using Free to watch television and/or browse the internet, you get 60 minutes of talk time and 60 text messages a month for zilch. Nada. If you’re not a Free subscriber then that jumps up to just €2 per month. … Read more
Microsoft owns Skype, one of the most popular voice and video over IP services that’s ever been released, so one would think then that Windows Phone would have the best Skype integration of all the smartphone platforms, right? Not so, in fact there isn’t even a Skype application available to download for Microsoft’s fledgling mobile platform. What do the folks at Skype have to say this? According to Rick Osterloh, Skype’s Vice President of Products, the company is “working on a Windows Phone product that will be coming out soon.” … Read more
Now that the Motorola Droid 4 has been officially announced not many folks will want the old DROID 3. It’s still a solid device though it lacks LTE connectivity, making it too slow for modern geeks. That said, Verizon Wireless has slashed the phone’s price, introducing a promo discount of $100 to bring the cost down to $99.99. US Cellular will get its own version of the Samsung Galaxy S II. Marked as SCH-R760, it has been approved by the FCC and is now officially ready to be sold on the U.S. soil. Unfortunately, we’ve no idea when the carrier will officially announce the device, but since they have the paperwork ready, I guess we shouldn’t wait for too long. Specs wise, we can’t tell whether US Cellular’s version of the smartphone rocks a Galaxy S II “standard” 4.3-inch screen or bigger 4.52-inch one like Sprint’s and T-Mobile’s … Read more

Now we’ve seen some expensive games in the past, but this is almost outrageous in today’s economy. Taito’s classic shooter RayForce is now available in the Apple AppStore for $11.99. And while we’re pretty confident there will be users who will easily pay that amount for the dose of nostalgia RayForce brings, it’s still too much to ask for an iOS app these days (at least I think so). Anyway the game allows you to play in two different modes – Arcade, which is a “faithful touchscreen recreation” of the … Read more
